McWane Ductile New Jersey implements safety initiatives to maintain standard of excellence
Eagle hardhat program
The McWane Ductile – New Jersey facility began an eagle hardhat program where team members have the ability earn and maintain an eagle hardhat through safety excellence.
Safety Committee members who gain a minimum of five safety points each month for three consecutive months can obtain an eagle hardhat and must continue to maintain five points per month to keep the coveted wearable. Continued dedication is an important part of the process because if you do not maintain the requirements, you will forfeit your hardhat.
Points can be earned through participating in a monthly supervisor safety inspection, being a member of a safety team, auditing or helping create or revise a JSA, leading a toolbox training session and more.
This process allows each employee to become more involved in safety throughout the plant and contribute to the positive safety culture at McWane Ductile.
